Everything Breaks

There is something wonderful about creating,
and there is a certain delight in completion,
but there is a perverse pleasure in destroying
and some just want to see it all come to ruin.

It is so much easier to destroy than build,
Whether it be the crafts, architecture, or art,
The greatest works can only be made by the skilled,
But the most inept of hands can tear them apart.

It takes a delicate touch and chisel so long
to make what can be swiftly smashed by a hammer
and when death arrives lifetimes are instantly gone
followed by a nothingness that lasts forever

It is so easy to break and so hard to fix
and many things can never be repaired at all.
It is no wonder that many people predict
and despair that all life will eventually fall.
