I do not know which is greater,
whether it be man or nature;
both have such power to build and destroy.
Nature created us
but we believe ourselves its master
as even when storms block out the whole sky
we can build shelters to keep ourselves dry.
But from some storms their can be no shelter
if the clouds just keep raining,
and the floodwaters just keep raising,
and the winds just keep raging,
nature can conquer us.
But man can conquer man as well
and none conquer us better than ourself,
our own minds can bring us to our knees
and we will tear ourselves apart
when troubled thoughts storm and stir;
from some storms their can be no shelter.
